With its Gem Fire Frenzy slot, Hammertime Games has reinforced the idea that casino games can be simple but entertaining. They’re certainly not reinventing the wheel here, yet this is a reasonably enjoyable game to play. 

A 7,500x maximum win isn’t the biggest, but it still offers solid appeal. While the optimal RTP of 96.00% is neither amazing nor terrible. Free spins with multipliers, cascading symbols and synced reels are anything but new inventions. And gem-themed games are a dime a dozen. Everything so far is decidedly ordinary, including the medium level of volatility.

We did, however, enjoy the choice of free spins bonus. They’re not wildly different, but the ability to pick your preference is one of the game’s nicer touches.
