Regular Symbols

A total of eleven regular symbols show up on the reels of Bao Zhu Xuan Tian. 

Six of these are the brightly-colored playing card icons 9 through A, which also feature Chinese-style designs. These pay up to 250x for five-of-a-kind, with top payouts of 50x and 15x when landing four or three.

The other four regular symbols are an ancient Chinese gold coin, a gold ingot and a pair of dragon dance costumes. You only need two of these to secure a prize, starting with 2x for the gold coin and ingot. Rewards of 20x, 100x and 500x await for three, four and five on a payline.

Bao Zhu Xuan Tian Review – Our Final Verdict

We can’t lie – there were a few misgivings about Bao Zhu Xuan Tian heading into this review. Given the unfamiliar and unusual name, we simply didn’t know what to expect. However, a short session on Google revealed the backstory. And after the first few spins, it became apparent that this is one of many standard Chinese style slots. 

In fairness, Skywind – an offshoot of Playtech – has done a good job of conveying the rich Asian culture, with a mix of colors and historical elements. But the game itself, which offers a below-average RTP, is quite basic. 

For instance, slots with a 5×3 layout are a dime a dozen. There’s a scatter which pays a reward, but doesn’t trigger a bonus feature. Meanwhile, dragons and gold feature heavily, just like a million other similarly-themed games.

The lack of bonuses is a big drawback. But at least it’s possible to pick up respins, which is close enough to a free spins feature. Expanding wilds do add a minor layer of interest, while the 5,000x top prize is reasonable enough to warrant giving it a try.
