Fishing Club
Our Fishing Club review tackles an innovative casino game from BGaming with an RTP of 97.16%.
This June 2024 release ditches the slot machine approach entirely, exchanging the traditional grid for reels of a different kind. Playing the part of an angler, you’ll select a lure, cast the line and look to hook prizes of up to 3,000x.
If that doesn’t make sense, don’t worry. Our Fishing Club review reveals everything you need to know about this highly unusual casino game.

Fishing Club Details, RTP and Volatility
BGaming’s Fishing Club is nothing like other new slots you’ll encounter. There are no reels, for a start. But it’s not a crash game either. Instead, you’ll assume the role of a fisherman, armed with a trusty rod and other tackle, looking to hook some prizes.
The game’s RTP is a generous 97.16%, while the volatility is on the low side of medium. You’re in control of the “risk” level, though, with five different options, each represented by a different lure.
Your bait of choice affects the base bet, which ranges from $0.20 to $1. However, you can further increase this to a maximum of $75, depending on your chosen risk level.
Theme & Graphics in Fishing Club
If you thought Fishing Club was a traditional slot, perhaps in the mold of the Big Bass games by Pragmatic Play, you’d be wrong. Although the theme is similar to such titles, set on the bank of a picturesque lake, it couldn’t be more different.
Gone is the usual reel grid, replaced by the arm and rod of a fisherman. His boat lies to the right of the screen, while a number of different lures can be seen to the left. This bait is based on real items of fishing tackle, from a humble worm to some elaborate-looking lures.
You can listen to a pleasant country-style soundtrack as you fish, as well as the wonderfully peaceful sound of chirping birds and Mother Nature. In addition, you’ll hear the huffing and sighing of the protagonist as he fails to land his targets.
Fishing Club Slot Features
The next part of our Fishing Club review will take a detailed look at the features and mechanics of this unorthodox slot game. This won’t take long, as it’s a fairly simple game.
Special Symbols
Although Fishing Club is advertised as a slot game, it doesn’t look like one. There are no symbols per se, as there are no reels. Don’t expect to encounter the usual fruits, wilds or scatters here.
Fish
However, the aim of the game is to snag fish on the end of your line, and there are 13 colorful critters to catch. We’re not ichthyologists, so we can’t tell you exactly what species they’re meant to represent, but they come in all shapes and sizes.
The smallest returns prizes of less than 1x, while other lower-paying species offer returns of 1x to 2x, 2x to 3x and so on. As the prizes increase, so do the ranges, starting from 5x to 10x for the orange and green fish.
A blue and yellow creature with a long, needle-like face is the most valuable potential catch. This awards a minimum of 100x, but can produce returns as high as the maximum 3,000x payout.
Risk Level
To the left, just below the game’s logo, you’ll see five icons representing levels of “risk”. They don’t affect the game’s volatility, but they determine the possible betting range available.
Tapping the five-star setting, represented by a huge lure with multiple hooks, means a minimum possible bet of $1 and a maximum of $75. Each different setting reduces the options by 20%, so it’s entirely up to you how much to wager.
Best Catch and Best Win
As you play, you’ll take pictures of your most valuable fish, shown to the right of the screen. This is a fishing simulator, after all. And what self-respecting angler wouldn’t want to document their biggest catch?
The “Best Win” photograph sits at the top, showing your biggest monetary return so far. While the “Best Catch” prize, wth the blue ribbon, is positioned just below. This records your biggest multiplier of the trip. You should’ve seen the one that got away.
How to Play Fishing Club Online
This BGaming release is extremely simple. With no reels, paylines or special symbols to worry about, you’ll literally just set a bet, cast your line and hope for a nibble.
Start by choosing a risk level from the tackle box on the left. Then adjust the exact bet size with the up and down arrows at the base of the screen.
Tap the circular arrows in the bottom-right to spin, or use the “A” symbol to configure as many automatic plays as you like. For every fish you catch, you’ll receive rewards in accordance with the paytable.

Fishing Club Review – Our Final Verdict
There are so many fishing-themed slots on the market already, you really have to wonder whether we need any more. Pragmatic Play alone seems to produce a new Big Bass title every 30 seconds. In fairness to BGaming, though, this is different.
Fishing Club isn’t a lazy attempt to jump on a bandwagon that’s blazing along. It’s totally reinvented the genre, with an actual fishing simulator. And it’s fun, too.
Fast-paced and easy to understand, you just cast and cross your fingers. We enjoyed the photographs, as they provide a target to beat with each new spin. The developer also gets full marks for aesthetics, as this is a gorgeous-looking game with nice sound effects.
