Save for the theme, which takes us to ancient Egypt, everything else about this game is a clone of Western Gold 2. That particular title, also developed by Just For The Win, offers five reels, four rows and 40 paylines, just like Legendary Treasures.

Theme & Graphics in Legendary Treasures

The symbols are not particularly innovative. Classic playing card icons are joined by Lucky 7s, for instance. The only really unique symbol is the explorer, who seems to be inspired by Rich Wilde. Fortunately, the soundtrack brings everything together, eliciting a sense of adventure during gameplay.

Regular Symbols
Base game symbols include spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. The first two pay 0.3x, 0.7x and 1.5x for matching three, four and five respectively. However, the latter two offer slightly less, at 0.2x, 0.5x and 1x for the same number.
The higher-paying symbols are mostly Lucky 7s, which come in three flavors. Match three, four of five of the single Lucky 7 icon to bank returns of 0.8x, 3x and 10x respectively. However, you’ll also notice a pair of 7s and a set of three 7s. These symbols pay greater rewards of up to 12.5x and 17.5x for five-of-a-kind.
There are also lower prizes for mixing and matching the different 7 symbols. The final regular symbol is the explorer, who pays 30x for five. You only need to match two of these to secure a return, which is 0.3x.
Wilds
Like most slots, Legendary Treasures features a wild symbol. This is a “W” and it substitutes for all regular symbols. Further, landing from two to five on a payline pays the same returns as the explorer symbol. That’s 0.3x, 1.5x, 7.5x and 30x.
Pyramid Symbols
The Pyramid symbol appears on all reels. Landing two will activate the Treasure Barrel, which awards a randomly-selected cash prize.
Scatters
The Scarab serves as one of two scatter symbols. This one doesn’t trigger the free spins game. However, landing between four and 12 earns you a prize from 1x to 10,000x.
Free Spins
The second scatter, which only appears on reels two, three and four, simply says “Free Spins”. You need at least three of these to earn a bonus of three free spins.
During this round, a new symbol can be found on the fifth reel: the artifact. Should this appear, it will reset the free spins counter, as well as activating the Feature Barrel. If you find any more scatters during the free spins game, they’re collected.

Legendary Treasures Review – Our Final Verdict
All in all, Legendary Treasures is a little disappointing. Feature-wise, it’s simply a clone of Western Gold 2. The similarities are so striking that it seems the developer has done little more than change the symbol design, logo and background.
That said, it is at least an engaging theme that will attract a lot of regular slots players. But we can’t really say that there’s anything too original. Even the explorer looks a bit like Play’n GO’s Rich Wilde.
The betting limits are quite low for an online slot, too. It’s not possible to spin more than $20 at a time. That’s normal for Just For The Win games, but it’s not going to appeal to higher rollers who play slots from other developers. However, the top prize of 25,000x is appealing, at least.
