Regular Symbols

As referenced earlier, the Pirate’s Run slot relies heavily on stereotypical piracy tropes, no more so than with its symbols. There’s a bottle of rum and an anchor, for example, which pay 20x and 30x for hitting five on a line. Land three of these to earn 3x and 4x, with 6x and 8x for matching four-of-a-kind.

The higher-paying icons are the compass, gunpowder barrel, treasure chest and the ship’s captain. You only need two of these to secure a prize, with 3x, 4x, 5x and 8x up for grabs respectively. The most rewarding symbol is the captain. Landing five of him returns the maximum 500x and ends the game round. 

Lower-paying icons are cherries, lemons, oranges, plums and watermelons. All of these offer a maximum payout of between  4x and 8x for five on a payline.

Wilds

The wild features a depiction of a female pirate holding a gun. It only appears on reels two to five and will substitute for any other regular symbol. When the wild forms part of a win, it expands to cover the entire reel.  

Scatters

Unlike most casino games of this nature, the Pirate’s Run slot does not feature a scatter symbol. In turn, that means you won’t find a free spins feature in this release.

Full Reels Multiplier

Anytime you form a win using the lower-paying fruit symbols, there’s a chance you’ll benefit from the Full Reels Multiplier. Pirate’s Run Review – Our Final Verdict

The pirate genre is a well-trodden path. Although SYNOT Games has done a solid, if unspectacular job with this slot, they’ve not really contributed anything new. The classic 5×3 grid and simple gamble feature ensures that the game has all the trappings of a classic vintage release. 

Crisp graphics and an epic soundtrack are certainly highlights, while slick animations reveal that the game is more modern than its features suggest. The Full Reel Multiplier is not something you see everyday, either, and this is the closest we get to genuine innovation. But the Pirate’s Run slot doesn’t even offer a free spins bonus and, at times, it lacks that bit of punch.

The developer claims an RTP of up to 97.97%, but we’re yet to see such a game. We only know of a 95.97% version, which is bang average. Coupled with a low maximum win of 500x, we’re just left wanting that little bit more. That said, if you’re a casual gamer, the low minimum bet will certainly appeal.
