Regular Symbols

The high-paying symbols in Stakelogic’s Wild Hogs slot are four fierce-looking biker hogs, plus four fiery skulls. You can tell the skulls apart by the color of their flames. These symbols pay from 0.2x to 0.8x for a cluster of three to six symbols. The hogs offer better rewards of between 1x and 8x.

Playing card icons from J to A have a spooky look to them, with colors that match the premium symbols. Create a cluster of three to six of these and you’ll earn from 0.05x to 0.03x.

Wilds

The golden W wild can only appear on the four central reels. It replaces all symbols except for the scatter.

Scatters

Appropriately for this Wild Hog slot, a gold-colored pig with lit-up eyes is the scatter. It also bears the word “BONUS”, as three of them trigger the Bonus Wheel, with four launching the Super Bonus Wheel.

Wild Modifiers

There are three Wild Modifier symbols, starting with the Wild Hog General, who creates up to five random multipliers ranging from x2 to x5. 

Next, the Lieutenant can blast random symbols away, replacing them with up to x3 expanding wilds. Finally, when the Sergeant appears, he uses landmines to swap reels for fully-expanded wilds.

Bonus Wheel and Super Bonus Wheel

Dropping three golden hog scatters on the central reel will activate the Bonus Wheel, while four activates the Super Bonus Wheel. 

The Bonus Wheel can award free spins, the Bonus Trail or the Super Bonus Trail. If the Super Bonus Wheel kicks in, you’ll earn more free spins and increase your odds of triggering the Super Bonus Trail.

Free Spins

Unlike most real money slots, free spins aren’t triggered directly by scatters. You can only obtain them via the Bonus Wheel, which offers between six and 15 free spins.

Bonus Trail and Super Bonus Trail

If the Bonus Wheel triggers the Bonus Trail, the game transports you to a different location in hell. There, you move around two circular trails, collecting multiplier values. 

Take care, though, for if you land on the same position twice, you’ll lose one of your lives. The game ends after losing all three lives, at which point the overall multiplier is applied.

If you land on a mystery symbol, the golden reel will spin. This offers an extra life, increased multiplier values of up to x500, or a reset trail. During Super Bonus Trail, the multiplier value becomes permanent and applies to each round.

Buy Bonus

With the Buy Bonus option, you can instantly trigger the Bonus Wheel, Bonus Trail or Super Bonus Trail. They cost 100x, 150x and 250x your bet, respectively.

Wild Hogs Review – Our Final Verdict

We really enjoyed Stakelogic’s Wild Hogs slot, particularly the impressive visuals and animations that boast a commendable level of attention to detail. The soundtrack is cool too, and overall, it’s an immersive slot that’s worth playing. 

There are plenty of engaging features, too, thanks to the Bonus Wheel, Bonus Trail and Super Bonus trail. Though critics might argue that Dead Man’s Trail does this better. And, if you wanted to continue being picky, the 96.01% RTP is merely average, while the 5,000x maximum payout is not exactly massive. 

Still, it’s a fun and a well-executed slot that’s well-suited to most bankrolls, and one that we’d definitely play again.
